U.S.-Hungary Business Council Completes 4th Annual Business Mission

Last week, the U.S.-Hungary Business Council (USHBC) brought its largest-ever delegation to Budapest for this year’s business mission. The delegation included 13 companies that have contributed roughly 15,000 jobs and over $500 million to the Hungarian economy. The Council had the opportunity to meet with Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, Minister of Finance Mihály Varga, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Interior Sándor Pintér, Dr. László György, State Secretary for Economic Strategy and Regulation, Ministry of Innovations and Technology, Zoltán Kovács, State Secretary for International Communication and Relations, Cabinet Office of the Prime Minister, and with officials from with the Ministry of Defense.

The meeting with the Prime Minister was an opportunity to highlight the U.S.-Hungary economic relationship. The United States is the largest investor from outside the EU in Hungary - 1,700 U.S. companies provide jobs for 106,000 Hungarians.
